What is a matrix?

A matrix is a complex survey question that allows multiple items to be rated side-by-side.

Building your own matrix question

1.     Start by entering question text. The question text is like the topic for the questions that will follow.

2.     Next add a line. This is the bit that you are asking people to answer, a sub-question.

3.     Then add a column set. Usually, these are radio buttons with 5 options, but there are many types to choose from. For this example I have used a rating scale.

4.     Fill in the details, and add it to your matrix, then click save.

It is possible to add column sets with different types of selection option (ie; radio buttons and dropdown boxes) but in most cases only one type is needed.

5.     When you are happy with your Matrix questions, click Save.
